hi guys. this photo struck me today. it just feels happy, doesn’t it? the past few months i feel like i’ve made huge strides towards happiness and it feels so great. i’ve been in therapy for about 10 months now for my anxiety and i feel like i’ve had some huge realizations about myself, my relationships, where my anxiety stems from etc. for once in my life i feel like i’m approaching life with less fear and more control. this is my 4th week back into working out and i’m still really enjoying it and starting to see results. i’ve been casually dating again. i have some bigger projects i’ve been working on behind the scenes that i can hopefully announce soon. life just feels really positive right now. but i really believe it’s because i’ve been putting in the work to feel that way…making healthier choices and taking care of myself.

it’s so easy to put off taking care of ourselves…i can get avoidant or too busy or lazy. but it’s really worth it. hopefully we can motivate each other in this space! lots of love and have an awesome day, bri

Lately, I’ve been writing lists of little things that make me happy, here’s the last one:

    – Getting perfectly tailored clothes after bringing them to my seamstress right in time for a trip
    – Eating cheese & drinking wine at the market with my friends on a Thursday night after work
    – Walking, walking, walking in the streets of Geneva
    – Having my mom cut my hair
    – Spending time with my grandfather
    – Having the chance to attend a conference by this man
    – Getting Snapchat updates of my growing veggie garden while I’m away
    – Knowing this guy is having fun while I’m away
    – Eating my weight in croissants
    – Making friends with the baker because she loves that I bring my own cloth bag

    Sending good vibes your way.

Aw, so glad to have those good vibes! That picture really is just purely happy. So glad to hear you’re taking care of yourself- it’s important to prioritize ourselves in order to be our best for others, and it’s easy to forget that sometimes. Bri, I think you’ll like my post on my 8 daily non-negotiables– it’s the stuff I try to not compromise no matter how busy life gets, because it’s the stuff that keeps me centered:

Ahhhh I love this! I’ve been quietly reading your blog for a few years now and never commented until now (that picture on this post really made me smile today). I love following your instagram and snapchat and seeing little peaks into your life. I also deal with anxiety and appreciate you being so open about dealing with yours. So glad you are feeling happy and positive, sending lots of love

Hello! I just wanted to say thank you for sharing that bit about therapy. From where I come from, there’s much stigma surrounding mental healthcare (or programs for improving quality of life (versus those that target physical health)). I just think it’s really important to talk about these things in a positive light. 🙂 It makes me so happy to hear that you’re in a great place! Also, I could totally relate to the part where you said you can get “avoidant or too busy or lazy” HAHA But here’s to bringing in nothing but good vibes! Wishing you all the best!!

Love how open you are about how you are feeling and how this can inspire others to work through similar feelings. I have had a lot of anxiety throughout my life and just had to share with you in case it may help that the turning point for me was when I heard how Eckhart Tolle describes disassociating with mind chatter, focusing on the present moment, etc. I actually randomly came across this when I listened to an Oprah / Eckhart Tolle podcast book club series of interviews a few years back. Amazingly helpful in a way that lasts. Glad you are doing better! You are awesome.
