bianca jagger, a style ICON! let’s take a second to study her cool ass looks…
bianca met mick jagger at a party after a rolling stones concert in france in 1970. in 1971, while she was four months pregnant, the couple married in saint-tropez, france, and she became his first wife. in may 1978, she filed for divorce on the grounds of his adultery with model jerry hall. bianca later said “my marriage ended on my wedding day.”
in a style time that is all about showing the midriff we’re all about showing a little shoulder! it’s discrete, comfortable and totally appropriate for so many situations. whatcha gonna wear on that second date? or to brunch with your girlfriends? or running around town on a weekend? an off the shoulder top/dress, that’s what! we’re showing you how it’s styled two ways, the boho way and the chic way.
the boho way is very off duty vacation mode, it’s airy and free flowing and could easily transition from day to night. hair down with a pair of sandals to hair up with a pair of heels, easy! here’s 10 cute looks we found over on asos…

and now for the chic of it, the more sophisticated silhouette. less frill more structure. there is something really beautiful about showing your neck line and then covering everything else up with a mid-length skirt or a pair of trousers. it feels natural to want to layer necklaces with these off the shoulder looks because there is so much exposed skin but we’d recommend going for a pair of statement earrings and leaving the neck area clean and bare.

what do ya say? into it?
for the most part fashion is circular, trends come and go and then they come again, and again. things will look different the second time around, the bias cut of the 30’s showed up in the the 90’s again but in different prints and fabrics. and that’s the beauty of it, a trend reimagined a million different ways. it’s funny to think about what you’ve said you’ll never wear again, and then somehow you see it on the runway or in the stores and it’s manageable, even exciting, and you start adding it back into your wardrobe in small doses. which is exactly what’s happening with western. when people hear western they automatically think head to toe cowboy boots, denim, fringe and belt buckles and there is so much more to it. western can be very glamorous, tiered skirts, scarves tied around the neck, layers of ruffles, and gingham prints.
western inspired pieces are working especially well in fashion right now because of how it’s paired with 70’s style. it’s a tie neck blouse but in a dot print making chic, or a classic gingham pattern but in a modern and sleek silhouette, a fringe suede jacket paired with a body con dress, cowboy boots worn with a clean line shift dress… you get the point.
it’s fashion reimagined which is the most exciting part about the movement of trends. taking something old and making it new, making it your own. it’s about experimenting, taking it in stride, trying something different and it’s okay if it doesn’t work out. follow your eye, what your drawn to, don’t worry about it being “too trendy”, experimenting is what personal style is all about.

the other day i decided to treat myself to a pair of statement earrings by annie costello brown (i got mine at clare vivier) i am not really the kind of girl that spends a ton on accessories, but when i saw these earrings i fell in LOVE. (i got the silver pair right below) they look great with just a simple t-shirt or dressed up with my hair back. they make me smile and remind me of this post. long live the statement earring!
aren’t they fun??
