i’ve been picking up a few new pieces to add to my closet for the changing of the seasons. i’m going to NYC next week and that will provide a much needed break for this LA heat wave and hopefully a chance to wear a coat or throw on a pair of boots. what wardrobe additions are you eyeing for fall?
shop above: Ted Baker botanical bloom cosmetic case – would make for a great gift, Ted Baker bow detail dress – wear it with tights in the fall, and Urban Outfitters floral kimonos. also, if you like the Ted Baker pieces you can enter their #pinpoinTED competition for the chance to win an outfit. i’m into their ladylike details and pretty prints. you can learn more, here.
shop above: ASOS pointed high heels – such a versatile color, they’d be cute with cuffed jeans or a dress, ASOS floral wiggle dress, ASOS fall coat and ASOS ankle boots – the ideal go with everything shoe for fall.
shop above: Clare Vivier oui tee, Clare Vivier weekender – love the color combo and size of this bag, Topshop sweatshirt and Topshop heart jumper.
i went to a museum and saw a bunch of fabrics bundled together and immediately thought about hanging colorful curtains in the studio and just seeing what happens. i’m highly inspired by color and thought it would create a cool effect…
we went a little wild and got 10 different colored panels, but you could easily get this vibe with just a few colors. we went downtown and got 10 really long strips of poly chiffon and just draped them over the curtain rod. easy to remove or add colors… (and all of it cost $100!) the office felt like a dream. i wanted to have some strange psychedelic party in here with them.
instead we invited max to come in one day and get creative with us. we put together this fun little silhouette series i thought i’d share with you guys. sometimes it’s nice to just create for no good reason. just to feel inspired.

even though we sort of get to wear summer clothing all year round here in LA, i still enjoy picking out a few new pieces at the start of the season to freshen up my wardrobe. these days, i’m finding that i’m drawn to simple prints and nice fabrics. what are some of your summer wardrobe stables?
shop above: ASOS summer daisy dress (cute over a swimsuit and then for dinner with a shoe change), Top Shop black and cream scallop swimsuit (i love how classic this swimsuit is, reminds me of the 60’s) and Top Shop orange and white polka dot two piece (i’m into the flattering high-waisted bottoms).
shop above: Need Supply beach tote with mat (packing up for the beach is a drag, i’d store all my beach necessities in here and keep it in my trunk), ASOS wooden heeled sandals (paired with a denim mini), and Loeffler Randall metallic sandals.
shop above: OTTE dip dye dress (summer date night dress) and Need Supply homemade necklace (over a plain white tee).
