Designlovefest was created in 2009 out of Bri’s own obsession with type and images. DLF rapidly became a daily read for over twenty thousand people, thanks to Bri’s exquisitely curated layouts featuring bright colors and style, mixed with witty typography and a flair for the unexpected.
Designlovefest Studio officially launched in January 2011, offering full-service graphic design and branding. Since then, Bri has taken the role as Art Director and has worked with many brands such as Benefit Cosmetics, Target, Gap, Banana Republic, and more. An active alumness, Bri transformed the bi-annual FIDM Alumni Newsletter into an award winning print glossy called Dialouges. Bri is the former Art Director for the web-based shelter publication, Rue Magazine. In the spring of 2011, Bri teamed up with photographer Angela Kohler to create Blogshop, a one-of-a-kind 2 day workshop offering Photoshop classes tailored to the specific needs of bloggers. Blogshop is being hosted in major cities all across the United States and Europe.
Designlovefest is a very special place thanks to the help of these lovely gals. Together we work hard to create original content you can’t find anywhere else. They are all very talented and i would love to tell you a little about each one of them…
STEPHANIE / COLORFEST & ETSYFEST COLUMN
Stephanie is a former fashion designer for a major Canadian retailer. She recently stepped into the world of indie design where she (finally!) decided she belongs! She is the one curating our Colorfest & Etsyfest columns. Hop on to her sweet online shop called Baba Souk. She created an inspiration oasis where you can find some of her own designs and rad findings from other designers & craftspeople.
NATALIE / MAKE IT COLUMN
Natalie is a freelance prop stylist keeping it real in her favorite city, Los Angeles. She spends many of her days driving around town listening to reggae on the hunt for the cool and unusual. When not on set or in a prop house you can most likely find her making things by day and on the dance floor by night. She is a papier mache enthusiast, tie dye devotee, photography lover, cat fancier, danceholic, occasional hand model, an ombre addict and Aquarian to the core. Her favorite color is turquoise.
KIM GENEVIEVE / FOUND HERE AND THERE
Kimberly is a lifestyle photographer living in the city of angels. Since the age of 8, she’s had a camera in hand capturing personal moments. Before she moved to LA, she would steal her father’s camera to photograph concerts back in her hometown of Ottawa, Canada. She’s since embraced the LA lifestyle by enjoying all the city has to offer – whether it be eating her favorite Mexican food on a weekly basis or enjoying free museum day. In a city known for it’s traffic and congestion, she prefers exploring the city by foot, whether it be hiking to the Hollywood sign or shopping for records.
