A FRIDAY CHECK IN

pasta | designlovefest

happy friday! how are you doing? i think this is the close of week 4 of shelter in place. today was the first day i woke up and couldn’t remember what day it was. hope your week went okay. have you made anything delicious? i’m always looking for recipe recommendations. i made this pasta recipe on wednesday (pictured above!)  and it exceeded my expectations. i hadn’t attempted homemade pasta since we were in cooking school last year. it really is so easy and so rewarding. i felt proud of myself for how it turned out, we all need those little accomplishments right now. i plan on making it again soon. my juicer (that i love and use almost daily) also doubles as a pasta cutter. and i appreciate that the attachments come when you buy it, not as an add on.

we launched our new collection of phone cases with casetify today. it’s a very happy collection and a culmination of work from so many different artists. we’re proud of how it turned out. block shop textiles and bliss & mischief are two of the new artists we’ve added which is fun because we’ve been fans of their clothing and textiles for a long time. it’s cool to see it translate to cases.

if you’re looking for comfortable clothes to relax in but that don’t look like sweats i highly recommend these lola trousers by LACAUSA. they are an ethical local to LA, female owned brand that makes amazing clothes. vince is offering 25% off everything, which still means their clothing is out of my price range but i love the blue monochrome of this outfit and the pants are so chic. i’ve been wearing lots of monochrome outfits lately, it’s fun to play with tones. Beklina is a great small business to support and they are doing 25% off everything but shoes.

need supply which is home to tons of great independent designers is also offering 25% off their entire site. rachel comey, annie costello brown, and ganni are a few of my favorite brands to shop on their site. annie’s earrings are some of bri’s and my favorites and basically all of her designs are majorly on sale right now. she’s another rad LA designer.
