PATIO MAKEOVER / BEFORE
the main reason i decided to buy this house was this patio. it was true love at first sight. i loved the benches and the tile, and that i could entertain out there. i moved in in october and it’s taken me a while to actually finish decorating the space. i’ve been having more people over this summer and decided it was finally time to make the space come to life. with the help of the verrrrry talented interiors queen sarah sherman samuel, we are in the process of the makeover. here’s the before photos and the inspiration behind the design. you can also see all the product sources over on her blog here!
my main inspiration was to make the patio feel like a hotel vacation. loungey, jungle vibe, comfortable, multiple seating areas, neutral with touches of blush and green, and natural textures. i wanted to mix together a few of the looks from some of my favorite hotels i’ve visited, and sarah totally knew where i was coming from and made this board for me.
we’ve ordered the pink cushions for the benches, gone plant shopping, and have ordered most of the furniture. i try to give myself deadlines so i don’t slack off, so i’m hoping to have it all done by early august.
here’s what sarah chose for the space…(i’m SO into it!) click here for the sources.
excited to show you the finished product soon, and then we are moving on to the dining room! xx bri

THIS PATIO IS INCREDIBLE. Omg! Dying! Even the before shots are perfect.
It definitely feels / looks like a hotel vacation and it’s not even finished yet, haha! Can’t wait to see when it’s all done! :O
Your patio is going to look amazing! I’ve been eyeing those CB2 rattan chairs.
Do you happen to know the color of your exterior trim / concrete seating area? My exterior is similar and I just tested a trim color that turned out meh.

So excited to see the “After”! And I think it’s brilliant to approach it like your favorite parts of a hotel. Why not live with that kind of easy luxury at home, right? I own a little Bed & Bar out in the Catskills and after opening I realized I was jealous of my guests’ rooms etc and have since turned that same kind of design eye towards my house and I LOVE it.
Where is your door from?
not sure, it was part of the house when i purchased it!
May I ask where the fun tiles are from dear? Holding up good? Thanks:)
I have the same question! LOVE the tiles!
where are those tiles from?! Please and thank you :))
yes please do share the tile link! thanks :))
