VARSITY STYLE IS BACK

i remember being SOOO into my “varsity” style Limited Too clothes back in middle school. before i was old enough to be a cheerleader, i remember thinking it was pretty much the coolest thing in the world to dress like one. lately, especially since i’ve been into the bell bottoms and cropped baseball tee look…i’ve been craving the varsity style¬†all over again. take a look at the old and new style inspiration and tell me how you feel about it! i like how nowadays they are making it a bit more funky/mismatched and a little less full prep. it all has a cheer, baseball, roller girl, camp vibe, eh?

Darling, this post is beautiful .. except for the encouragement to buy from Joe Fresh. Their labor practices are notoriously inhumane and years after so many of their workers were killed in a factory collapse in Bangladesh, little has changed (more here: http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2015/12/bangladesh-factory-workers/421005/?utm_source=SFFB). I know that you’re some one who values craftsmen and how things are made, so I hope it might give you pause to support them.

I’m in love with this trend!
I’m going to Glastonbury this Summer and this has totally inspired me to play around with my look…nothing better than channelling a cheerleader at a festival right?

I’d love to learn about fashion history a little bit, and how fashion today may have changed. It feels like as opposed to a whole decade in the 20th century, we’re changing aesthetics in only a couple years. Is that just a perception of a decade being so close to the present? It’s also fairly clear that we’re currently channeling the 70s, but what did fashion in the 70s look back on for inspiration?

    Yessss, so into it!

    Robin says:

Loving the new style of the blog, Bri! I’ve been craving more random, inspirational content myself lately rather than perfect curation, so I’m glad you’re feeling the same! Keep it up, gal.
