MAKING MOOD BOARDS
i’m always dreaming up ideas for workshops, collaborations and content. one of the hardest parts for me is getting my thoughts and vision down in a tangible way, and quickly. i work with a lot of remote clients and they need a visual to understand what i’m planning to create. in comes the mood board…
i tried out the HP Sprout computer and i’ve been having a great time playing around with it. it’s so fun to be able to scan things directly from the touchpad and then to edit and create mood boards very quickly. also, people are always asking me how i do “handwritting” on my blog (normally i use a wacom tablet) but this allows me to just use my finger! it’s a helpful tool to have in our studio.
one of my favorite workshops is the floral class we do with moon canyon. we create a different theme for the class each time and build the entire presentation of the class around that theme from the vases, food and florals. the sprout offers a way for my contributors and i to communicate visually without all of the e-mails back and forth. add colors, text, photos…it’s super cool.
here, watch how i use it in this short little video here!
