MEGHAN TRAINOR VIDEO PROJECT
last week was such a blur! i was brought on to the meghan trainor “lips are movin” video to help with the set designs and art direction of the video. honestly, this was one of those projects that i wasn’t sure i was ready for. it was a huge production, i was excited about it, but also nervous! after some thought, i decided to just go for it and make it work. you can see a bunch of behind the scenes and the actual music video after the jump!
i met with director philip andelman & production designer maxwell orgell (both these guys have worked on such amazing projects!) and got a feel for the concept of the video. from there, i came up with a bunch of mood boards and ideas for the sets. we wanted to keep it very colorful, playful and fun (luckily, right up my alley) then, maxwell and his team made some of those ideas become a reality. it was really great collaborating with them!

another fun aspect was that i actually got to be IN the video too! you should see me sprinkling confetti in there somewhere 🙂
my favorite part of the experience was meeting all of these new people on set. (les twins, chachi gonzales, charm la’donna and so many more!) it was such a bonding few days with long hours and a lot of good times. i loved meeting meghan, joking around with the crew, talking about ideas with philip, watching how the music video world works, obsessing over the dancer’s moves…
now, you can be one of the first to watch the video at HP’s Youtube channel (i’m so impressed with how fast they turned that around!)

You did such an amazing job!!!! You should share your mood boards! 😉
I love the fun, happy vibe of the video and can see how well it fits in with the mood of your blog as well! Job well done!
I once did behind the scenes photography for a music video that was shot in almost 48 hours straight. It was such an insane 2 days and so incredible how much goes into music videos! So much work, crew, so many things to consider- I’ve never looked at a music video the same way again! This seems like it would have been so much fun to be a part of! Good for you for doing something outside of your comfort zone!
OMG So proud of you Bri! And all the other Social Media Geniuses on board! I love how they pulled everyone from different fields to help bring the project together. Looking forward to seeing you do more of this! <3
WOAH!!!!!! DUDE. so cool. you were so ready.
Kind of disappointed! The illustration with the lips looks like a total Olimpia Zagnoli ripoff!
I was watching the video for the first time today and was totally unaware of the fact you worked for/in this video. I saw you sitting, working on a laptop and thought: ‘she looks a lot like Bri! And when the sprinkling part started I knew for sure. How cool for you to work on this project. You did a great job being vibrant as ever!
