MOON PARTY & DOWNLOADS!

this post is something i’m really excited and proud of! i love how everything came together, and i can’t wait to tell you all about it so you can have one of these magical floor parties of your own. throw one in your backyard, string up some lights, project a cool saying on the wall and voila!

hosting events and workshops is one of my absolute favorite things to do. so when epson asked me if i could come up with some alternate ways of using a home projector system my mind immediately went to parties. i feel like i constantly have something to celebrate or plan and decorate for and i thought it would be fun to have something that you could throw up on the wall to instantly make it feel like a celebration.

so we created party downloads! four different sayings and phrases that you can download and project on the wall of your own gatherings (pst, you can enter to win one of the projectors after the jump!). we picked my favorite, make your own magic, and threw a little party around the moon theme.

kristen and amy from moon canyon styled the event, from the hand-painted rocks to the perfect centerpieces, they exceeded my expectations as usual. and heirloom la created a gorgeous spread of food and the most delicious cocktails you’ve ever tasted.

they really are creative culinary geniuses!  i mean, the cocktail had edible silver flakes in it!

amy painted all of the rocks for the table and made individual mini moon watercolor place cards for everyone. the magic was in the details for this party.

i loved the idea of having a floor party…and surrounding the table with pillows and mini stools for the platters of food to be easily accessed.

we got the most beautiful assortment of pillows, moroccan rugs and tables from found rentals, they have a wonderful selection of vintage pieces that you can rent for parties. in love with all of the pillow textiles…

the colors were straight out of a dream and jesse captured the day perfectly.

we used the powerLite home cinema 2000 projector from Epson to project the saying on the wall. it worked great! we’ve also been enjoying using it in the studio to watch huge episodes of Girls on the wall during lunch time!

download one of these 4 designs to project at your next party and enter below to win the projector we use in our office for so many things!

What a beautiful party! I think I’m going to modify this into a more intimate moon night date night for the full moon Sunday! I love the coziness of the floor pillows!

After looking at Epson’s website I think I like the projector most. Watching television is my “me” time to unwind after work and with my recent move, I had to sacrifice the world’s most comfiest couch for a flat-pack one (my other wouldn’t fit through the door!) So any way to bring back the zsa zsa zoo of TV watching in my apartment would be most appreciated!

  • 104. jackie  |  August 6th, 2014 at 9:51 am

Oh wow. Beautiful! I too adore throwing parties and my new apartment is ready to have one and to have a projector would be so baller! I have crazy high ceilings and I have purposefully left one wall blank for a projector to shine it’s awesomeness upon (I just haven’t gotten around to finding one I like). I think this particular white one would fit perfectly with my aesthetic of all things white (ha!) and add so much to my place. Plus, I could finally watch some movies on my cute couch instead of my kitty cat thinking she owns it or something. hehe! Wowza…and I just read it does 3D too!? Get outta here! How cool is that? • 114. Ryan  |  August 6th, 2014 at 10:14 am

I have been dying to set up an outdoor movie night in my backyard! This projector would be perfect. The other one of Epson’s that I covet is the Epson Powerlite 3020.

  • 121. Mandy  |  August 6th, 2014 at 10:20 am

If money were no option – I would love the EPSON SureColor S50670 – making prints gets pricey, and if I had my own large-format printer, well, I’d be in heaven!

If I were spending my own money on it, however, I’d totally settle for some ink for the printer I already own. :)

  • 122. Shannon  |  August 6th, 2014 at 10:21 am

My favorite is this projector! But I would love a label maker too…

I never thought of using it to help transform a room for a party, but it’s a pretty fantastic idea. love the blogpost!

  • 132. Iwona  |  August 6th, 2014 at 10:32 am

Wow! What a magical moon party! Breathtakingly beautiful styling and photography. Brava!
I love Epson products and now that I freelance from home I’ll be updating to one of the workforce all in one printers. It has all I need.
But the projector! – it brings nostalgia and memories from childhood when on some weekends my parents projected slides with cartoons on the wall in our bedroom. My brothers and I absolutely loved it and introducing it to my five year old twins sounds like a lovely idea. They would be in hypnotized watching the movies in our back yard. Great giveaway!

I would also love the projector! I hosted a summer cinema backyard party and the projector we had was a cheapo. The quality was bad, we had to make the picture smaller, it didn’t turn out like my dreams. Having this projector would be so great to have a weekly movie night for friends, family and neighbors!

  • 136. Jeannine  |  August 6th, 2014 at 10:42 am

I would totally choose the home cinema projector! We have a vintage projector and the bulb just wore out – my husband and I are actually on the lookout for a new one. This projector looks fabulous! We left an entire wall blank just to screen movies and tv shows up big. We don’t even have a TV, ha. Plus we can use it for parties – such an awesome idea Bri! xo

We just moved to sunny California from Brooklyn and are setting up our backyard to have a outdoor movie space—why not take advantage of the beautiful weather out here! That said, I love the Home Cinema 2000 the best, but after look ing at the site I could also use the LW-600P Label Printer to get organized.

  • 240. Wayfaring Wanderer  |  August 6th, 2014 at 3:55 pm

I’ve had the Epson PictureMate Show Digital Frame / Compact Photo Printer on my list! But a projector for our lawn parties would be SUPER AWESOMAZING!

Love how this little get together was styled!

  • 241. Maria  |  August 6th, 2014 at 4:01 pm

First can I just say: beautiful dream party!!! Love the palette, the rocks, the luscious greens, so many beautiful details. I threw a moon party for my son’s first birthday and wish I could have seen this first! The moon watercolor place cards are perfect! And, um, those pillows! Want them all! As a filmmaker whose small, Indy film just got picked up for distribution (yahoo!) and as a working mom trying to etch out a living in the film world, the Epsom Home Theater 2000 would be such a well loved and used addition to my home/work life. The 1080p projection is what sells me as well as the sleek look! I have a wonderful but very old Epson projector that has been a work horse for the past 7 years, so it’s def time for an upgrade :) love this party, thanks for the chance to win something so cool ! Xo

  • 242. Lillian-Marie  |  August 6th, 2014 at 4:02 pm

Oh man, the old house we just bought has an awesome backyard. I’m dying to host outdoor movie nights with all our friends, so the Epson PowerLite home cinema 2000 would be perfect!

  • 246. Julie  |  August 6th, 2014 at 4:25 pm

I want to know how you did the rocks. Paintbrush? or Pen? Epson printer is my fave.

  • 247. Mandy  |  August 6th, 2014 at 4:30 pm

This is so gorgeous! My fave is definitely the projector. My husband and I bonded over our love for movies and have been wanting to throw movie nights in our backyard! We even have a wall ready to paint white!! That and the photo printers… We just had a baby and it would be great for instant gratification!! Thx!

  • 248. Erica Henderson  |  August 6th, 2014 at 4:35 pm

I really need a new all-in-one printer, but what I’d really LIKE is that fabulous projector! Movies on the front patio for Indian summer; that’s what I’d like!

    Cheers ~ Erica

  • 249. Sarah  |  August 6th, 2014 at 4:41 pm

I would love one of the home cinema projectors- what fun!

    I love your work.
I only wish I could swing by more easily.

The colour palette and styling of the moon party is so delicious. Thanks for all your ongoing daily inspiration.

  • 251. Megan  |  August 6th, 2014 at 4:47 pm

Such a lovely theme – so magical. Took me away from the #deskjobblues for a few minutes. Thank you so much for that.

I have an old projector screen but no projector…It was my dads. It would be amazing to put this to use for an event for him – a birthday party and have a movie going.

    Fingers crossed.

    ~megan

  • 252. Andrea Metzler  |  August 6th, 2014 at 4:50 pm

Such a fantastic post! I’m in the process of making a coffee table similar to the one in the pictures for my studio apartment. Can’t wait to have mini dinner parties around it. Thank you for the inspiration!
Besides the awesome projector, the Epson WorkForce WF-3520 All-in-One Printer looks amazing. Would love to be able to print right from my iPhone.

  • 253. Destiny  |  August 6th, 2014 at 5:08 pm

I’m sure the people at my local ups store want me to get an all in one printer; no more stressed out side eye’d 6am sass from this gal…but I want that Powerlite HomeCinema.

  • 261. Jessica  |  August 6th, 2014 at 5:51 pm

  • 262. Hannah  |  August 6th, 2014 at 5:58 pm

I’ve always wanted an Epson projector! I keep eyeing them but can never justify spending the money. I’m actually really excited about Epson’s Moverio BT-200 smart glasses. They look beautiful and they’re probably my favorite thing I’ve stumbled across on their website (I’d be so interested to see how they stack up to google glass!)

  • 263. Yehsong  |  August 6th, 2014 at 6:02 pm

Ooh my favorite item would be the LW-400 Label maker because I’m a nerd and always secretly wanted a handheld label maker. :)

  • 264. Krista  |  August 6th, 2014 at 6:08 pm

My favorite item is definitely the PowerLite Home Cinema 2000 2D/3D 1080p 3LCD Projector. It would be so stupendous to project films outdoors and in on a large scale for my family and friends. Neighborhood pool movie night here I come!

  • 265. kelly revenaugh  |  August 6th, 2014 at 6:15 pm

  • 266. Meghan Stewart  |  August 6th, 2014 at 6:24 pm

  • 280. Christen  |  August 6th, 2014 at 7:59 pm

We have been shopping around for the perfect projector to watch movies on at home. This one looks amazing! I’d be so excited to win one, as it’s my birthday then too! Thanks for an amazing party idea and giveaway!

  • 281. Kamaile  |  August 6th, 2014 at 8:06 pm

I have the Epson LW-400 Label Maker and I use it all the time! But if I had a wish list item it would be the Epson PictureMate Charm Compact Photo Printer. I love the moon party idea. Those pillows look so inviting.

  • 282. Sunny  |  August 6th, 2014 at 8:06 pm

Gahh! I’ve been wanting a projector so bad! Sadly they’re just not in my budget at the moment (or maybe ever)! Winning this would be a dream come true! I would have to say my fav item on the site would have to be the PowerLite 1985WU WUXGA Wireless 3LCD Projector! And if I don’t win this, you’ll be able to find me combing though Beverly Hills yard sales for one!

  • 283. Joelle  |  August 6th, 2014 at 8:14 pm

I have been looking for something exactly like the PowerLite Home Cinema 2000 2D/3D 1080p 3LCD Projector to use for the occasional TV viewing get-together (because I hate having an actual TV screen dominating the design of my living area, but love getting together with friends to watch bad reality TV shows) and to have interchangeable beautiful images projected on the wall at other times! Where do I sign up?!

  • 284. Anonymous  |  August 6th, 2014 at 8:21 pm

I think the correct question is what don’t I want from the Epson product line. If I have to pick one it’s the large graphics scanner so I can easily scan my artwork!

  • 285. Emily  |  August 6th, 2014 at 8:21 pm

A home theater projector would be awesome! I also love the photo printers. Beautiful party!!

I’ve been wanting a projector all year! I really like the VS230 SVGA 3LCD Projector on the Epson website because it’s affordable. But I’d still love to win the one you’re giving away–obviously! Stunning post!

  • 310. Tenzo  |  August 7th, 2014 at 1:22 am

I love all the epson home projectors but the 2000 seems to be one of the best with it’s HD quality, 2d and 3d projection capabilities with built in sound that also has the extra mhl connectivity available. I would use this product to enjoy movies both in and outdoors and I would especially want to use it to project a starry night sky on my bedroom ceiling during the cold winter months in the city.

  • 311. C. Lynn Bennett  |  August 7th, 2014 at 2:37 am

I love the VS330 XGA 3LCD Projector! Oh, howI would love to have a projector! Thanks for the opportunity, Bri!

  • 322. Amy M  |  August 7th, 2014 at 5:48 am

As a designer it would be SO helpful to have a wide format pinter like the Epson Stylus Photo R3000 Inkjet. Think of all the giant moons I could print!!

  • 345. Emma  |  August 7th, 2014 at 8:51 am

The ProCinema 4030 would be sweeeeet. I do love the idea of using a projector to watch movies, especially considering how often my dining room is actually a patch of grass with a picnic. Potentially less expensive, greener, more compact, and more transportable option than all these giant TVs we seem to have in our homes these days.
