WEAVING WORKSHOP

i am obsessed with maryanne moodie’s weaving designs. her color composition is flawless. we were lucky enough to host her in my studio for two weaving workshops last week. and as it turns out, she is just as cool and wonderful as her designs. excited to share photos of the day with you that were so beautifully captured by julia stotz

p.s. our upcoming workshop schedule:

social media session 1 and session 2 (almost sold out!)
florals with moon canyon session 1 and session 2
new classes announced soon, hear about them first from our mailing list

we host a lot of workshops in the studio so it was fun to mix up our usual layout with pretty tables and chair from yeah! rentals. their tolix chairs in pink, orange and white were the perfect color accents to the students weaving set-ups. i chose to just use greens on the tables and let the colors everywhere else stand out.

whoa nelly catering treated us all to a beautiful fresh and local spread. they shop the farmers market twice a week to make sure they are getting the freshest in-season produce. and they balanced the healthy lunch perfectly with a dessert bar featuring homemade s’more bites, twix cookies and chocolate covered “ho-hos” to name a few.

we hung some of her weavings on the wall for the class and i’m not gonna lie, it was hard to let her take them back with her. they’re all so good!

maryanne sources all of her products ethically and sent all of the students home with their own kit to get them started on their weaving journey.

it has been fun to see the students post their finished work and works in progress on instagram. (hashtag here) it’s amazing that you can come in knowing nothing about a skill and leave being able to create something entirely on your own.

such a friendly bunch of people, chatting away as they put their new skills to work…

thanks for everything, maryanne! we’re already scheming on how we can get you back to teach again!

What a fun class! I would totally take a waving workshop if I lived in LA. You guys should totally have a class in Orlando one day! There is nothing boring about weaving, all of the wall hangings are adorable. I love that everything she uses is ethically sourced to!
