wow, wow, wow!! can i just pick one of each?! i’m such a book junkie but i usually get books to read like novels or compilations of essays but these would totally break with my routine in a good way.
i think creative block is my favorite, as i’m a visual artist and i do get blocks every once in a while. Or the where, why and how looks awesome, too, for me and the little one in my life that loves books and science, too.
thanks for such a cool giveaway.

I love browsing the Chronicle Books shop whenever I am downtown to get inspiration for my work. The books on this list are among my favorites in the store but I have to admit I am excited for the Summertime book to come out in August. After growing with foggy SF summer, I decided I want to spend a year traveling and chasing summer. Even tho it has been on my bucket list for a while, I’d be very happy with the coffee table book until I’ve saved up enough to skip town with a suitcase full of bikinis, straw hats and lots of novels.

  • 451. Molly  |  March 28th, 2014 at 1:03 am

I know it’s obvious, but this is a truly gorgeous book collection. The colorful covers are my favorite. It really is impossible to choose from this collection. But I would love to have The Art of I Love You. However, I am fascinated by illustrators who use watercolor and drawing and painting to illustrate. Meanwhile In San Fransisco, Lincoln Memorial, and Josephine(The Dazzling Life of Josephine Baker) look beautiful! I must say I enjoy the children’s book and those beautiful picture books the most. Thank you!

There’s just something about Time and Tide. Gorgeous but tinged with just a hint of sadness brought on by nostalgia — and not the kind that’s necessarily generated from personal experience.

    I’ll stop :)

  • 485. Rachel Ake  |  March 28th, 2014 at 8:13 am

I’m stuck between 100 Years of Fashion and Paris in Color. I absolutely love color; it’s something that drove me to become a graphic designer, so I’m really interested to see how another person perceives colors in one of the most famous cities on earth. Like graphic design, fashion is very much shaped by the culture surrounding it-whether it be a pleasing to the eye or not. I’m interested to see what this book offers.
