hello there. i’m back home in LA for the next month, which sounds very exciting to me. we decided to teach our next LA blogshop in my new office building to switch it up (2 spots left), so we’ve been busy planning that. this weekend i want to go to the farmer’s market and stock up on vegetables and flowers for the house, unpack all my bags and settle IN for a while…

i’ve had this major thing for martinis lately. i never really liked them in my early 20’s. but on my recent trip to rome, victoria just told me i just wasn’t drinking the right martinis. vodka, dirty, three olives. now i crave them after work (probably a little too often) it’s funny because i’ve been telling some of my friends and a lot of them say “oh, iiiiii remember my martini phase.” (this happens a lot when you’re the youngest in the group. ha) do you like them? they’re sort of an acquired taste, yea? for me, it’s time for one of these on my bar cart…

shop left to right: 1930’s brass shaker from Etsy, Orb copper shaker from Crate&Barrel, and Gold plated shaker from Umami Mart.

enjoy your weekend! have a martini for me. and if you want other cocktail ideas, you should check these out! -bri

I’m a 3 olive dirty martini fan myself. but yes, I can also remember my martini phase.

Lately I’m in a whiskey phase, much to my own surprise. My husband finds it sexy so we’ll go with that!

I never, ever tried a martini. May be a good time to give it a try… these shakers look greatly tempting!

not a martini person, but that middle shaker is too cute!

We love cocktails but we don’t know how to do it!

love martinis! my favorite. dirty with lots of olives. actually, i went out with some girlfriends a while back and asked for it extra dirty and the bartender suggested the term “filthy”. so that’s what i order now. vodka filthy martini, three olives.

Ha. I totally went through a martini phase in my earl 30’s.. i’ve moved on but my husband is still in it. 🙂

ooh, i remember my martini phase too. ;D these days i´m more into cuba libre. after my bf came back from his cuba trip he taught me a really good cuba libre recipe with lime juice. i looove it!

    Aline says:

Ohh i never drink real martini ! (in France, we have a drink named “Martini”, but it’s like white sweet wine, not a cocktail) But maybe if i try, i’ll know the “martini phase”!! 🙂 BTW i love the shakers, with a preference for the first!

Yes, I had a martini phase in my mid twenties. Dirty vodka is the way to go!
BE CAREFUL though. Someone once told me:
“Martinis are like boobs, one is not enough and three are too many.”
(I learned this the hard way)

Olives and olive juice are my favorite things. Oh yeah, and then theres gin or vodka…but those are secondary.

This is so timely! I just saw the copper martini shaker at Crate & Barrel, and I’m obsessed!

    Mia says:

Nothing wrong with going through a martini phase. Those cocktail shakers are to die for!! Grey Goose has some pretty cool video tutorials for making cocktails at home http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbRfGTeBxYE

    Bailey says:

As cool looking/sounding as they are, I’ve never tried one!! I think because I hate olives – literally more than any other food, ever – so the idea of a drink that calls for 3 of them makes me want to yak. 😉
