we east side girls traveled west to visit linus bikes in venice beach. just off the abbot kinney strip and down a tiny garden path is a beach bungalow surrounded with bikes and full of beautifully made baskets, bells, and all sorts of other must haves to style your ride.
i really love the linus look! sleek and chic. reminiscent of the french bicycle design of the 50’s and 60’s. its with this spirit that the sweet people at linus let us take the bikes out on the town for an afternoon of flowers, farmers markets, and fresh juice. all day long I kept saying to myself that it doesn’t get better than this!
in keeping with the spring farmers market afternoon i filled the baskets with all sorts of spring flowers like daffodils, ranunculus, fritillaria. i also incorporated sweet pea tendrils and kale into this bouquet to give it that extra from the garden touch.
another great find of the day were the beautiful white forsythia branches which have a sweet fragrance. (i must have left a spring scented trail behind me.)

The Mixte 3 in cream is beautiful and slightly vintage! I’m moving into the city this summer and need a bike before-hand so i can really take advantage of the great weather and summer activities… even when commuting (whether its to the beach, street fests, the local deli or any other place i can get to without compromising for the train.)

As a Chicago city girl I have been itching to get a bike for the last 6 years that I have lived here! I’ve yet to find something that suited my style though until I saw these beautiful gems. Sadly out of my price range, I can daydream (or cross my fingers to win!).

Love this post – the styling, everything is gorgeous. My favorite practical accessory is the head lamp and favorite splurge would be the child seat. I would love to take my 2.5 year old on rides through the neighborhood this summer!

Oh my gosh! This give away came at the perfect time! I recently had a bike stollen when I left it outside of my office (even though it was locked up!). I’ve been eyeing the Linus Dutchi 1 bike in cream for quite some time. Living in Chicago without a car for 7 years means that getting from place to place isn’t always the easiest. Winning this bike would be a big game changer, plus they’re so perfectly made!
Good morning! What a great contest. I would absolutely love to win this bike.. considering I do not have one and spring is hopefully right around the corner (I live in Iowa :-/) and I would loveee to break the warm weather in with a lovely bike ride.

This is too good to be true! I live in Davis, which means bikes on bikes on bikes, and I’ve been pedaling on my cruiser’s last leg for awhile now. A new bike, especially a Linus one, would be a dream to ride. As for a favorite product, I’m now eyeing that teal rear wire basket—I’ve only ever seen them in white or black, so that would be perfect for standing out in Davis’s sea of bikes!

The Mixte 3 is so cute! I already have a beach cruiser (an Elvis themed one at that…) but it’s so heavy. I’d love a new bike that’s lighter and easier to get around, and also not too big for me. My Elvis is about 6 inches too tall and with my clumsiness there have been some pretty embarrassing moments trying to get on and off.
If I won, I’d love the roadster in cream, and I’d probably have to purchase a cute basket for it too!

The Roadster Classic is pretty much bike perfection. Especially with adding a rear rack to it! And it would be wonderful considering my husband’s only bike was recently damaged beyond repair. 🙁 We live downtown and try to bike everywhere as much as we can.

I really like the Dutchi in cream – it’s a beautiful, classic bike. My current bike is on it’s last leg, but my 11-year-old terrier (who is too old to go for long walks now) loves to get into her bike basket and go for a ride. I know she’d love to cruise around town in this beauty!

WOW! I cannot believe LINUS is the giveaway item! This is too good to be true, I have had my eye of the Rosewood Roaster for longer than I can imagine; so clearly, the roaster is by far my fav. It is classy and classic and that frame is flawlessly gorgeous! I have been waiting to get a bike until I moved down into the flat part of my little town in San Diego – now that I have finally made the move just a bike ride away from the beach, farmer’s markets, my favorite craft store and coffee shop it is time to put my car away and bring a Linus out to play!

I’m a college freshman now and planning to live off-campus starting this summer. I wanted a bike since beginning of college…looking at all the thrift/antique shops around town, but my legs weren’t long enough for the most models (Asian problem), sigh. But the Dutchi1 looks PERFECT. (spring green) And it would be awesome to ride down the the street on it. Also the wire rear basket is beautiful.

As it is, I head to market on foot these days. My bike was stolen last fall and, what with Chicago winters and spending all my money on buying and diy-renovating a house, I haven’t been able to replace it. It’s been hoofing it and heeling it for me–but goodness, would I love to tool around on this!
(I might even make some saddlebags for it. I was recently given a roll of vintage leather, and I couldn’t imagine a better use… Ooh, fingers are crossed!)

The Roadster 8 is my absolute favorite! It is such a perfect bike for someone who lives in a city. I live in Downtown Los Angeles and this bike is perfect to commute in and carry stuff on with the rear rack.

The Dutchi 1 in green combined with the Nantucket Adult Lightship Tapered Basket would allow me to get to work quickly (and environmentally friendly) without an enormous backpack or briefcase on my back. Dutchi 1! I love linus bikes! I remember when Philip Lim used them in his spring collection. I was head over heels for them and have been wanting one since! I would cruise around highland park to go to my favorite coffee shop 🙂

I just moved to New York City and as much as I love the subway, I would LOVE to start biking around this city once the sun comes out and the snow stops falling! My best friend just moved to Brooklyn and while we’re not too far away in physical distance–about a 15-minute bike ride–because of complicated subway lines, it’s a 45-minute public transport trek whenever we want to grab coffee or make dinner or borrow each other’s clothes! I would LOVE the Dutchi 1 in Marine to ride around the Lower East Side, over to my friend in Williamsburg, and up to work in Midtown 🙂

I love the Linus bike line and have been itching to get one. I think my dream Linus bike would be either the Mixte 8 in green or the Roadster 8 in blue. I use my bike all the time in the warm weather but have been using a mountain bike. I’d so love to transition to more of a city bike.

I sold my car a year ago in order to pay loan payments. My cruiser bike became my main mode of transportation and it turned out to become my best friend as well! Riding is my therapy. Though pretty, my bike is way to heavy and slow for daily commuting. The cream roadster classic is so pretty and light and fast. It would surely become my cherry on top every single day.

My husband and I have been on the hunt for the perfect bike for a year now. He’s been riding for a while, and I’m dying to shake the dust off my walking shoes and ride through some of the beautiful trails in my wonderful city of Raleigh.
Though I’d say the Dutch 1 is more my style, I am in need of the Roadster 8 for the hilly rides found in the North Carolina Piedmont. The cream color is gorgeous accompanied with those brown details.

When I first went to the Linus website I read their story, and I loved the part where they were saying that bikes arn’t being fully put to their use, that they are great for running errands around town. I thought that was kind of inspiring. I live in a college town, so I am constantly walking everywhere, but it would be so much fun and faster to ride around town on one of the Linus bikes. They’re beautiful! My favorite thing on the website is the Lil’ Roadster because it is adorable, although if I end up ordering my own bike I’ll also be purchasing the Rear Wire Basket, its lovely and I tend to have a lot of baggage. Ahhhh I need this bike!

Adoring the Roadster Classic- slender and speedy, just like the one I keep borrowing from a friend while he’s out of town and mine is being fixed (for the 3rd time in the lat 6 months)! While I save for a new bike ($500 is a lot to come up with between two part time jobs and school), I am loving how fun, and fast these thin bikes are. I woosh down the street to the beach to enjoy times with friends, or a scenic run. I am an art student in Florida so I constantly ride my bike around, especially to get groceries. My bike is quite old now so it’s already quite rusty in places. the Dutchi1 in cream, please. so. this is a funny one for me. because actually, I don’t know HOW to ride a bike. I know, RIGHT! it’s awkward. when people say “oh, it’s just like riding a bike!” I cringe. I knew once! now, I don’t. it seems, ah yes, I’ve *forgotten.* when I lived in NYC it was okay – I could walk, it was a choice. it was a lifestyle, walking places. but now here in Los Angeles, it’s becoming a thing. everyone knows about it! I miss out on bike rides down to the beach, trips to the market that are a breeze on a bike but kind of a trek on foot. I have to kind of duck out of these gatherings or otherwise tell them I’ll just *jog* next to the caravan of chic bikes. right, yes. jog alongside the bikes! I’m confident that if I had a pretty little Linus, I’d make it happen. I can ride a little bit, like, in straight lines, uninterrupted, no obstacles added to my trajectory. I’m quite sure I just need some good practice. is it a little histrionic to say that winning this contest might.. just.. change… my California life?! I’ve said it. fingers crossed!

Can I tell you how in love I am with everything Linus produces? The bikes are gorgeous and the Crane Riten Bell with the Rear Wire Basket are the *perfect* accessories. I live in Downtown Fargo, ND and in the summer I ride everywhere. My current bike was destroyed from a ride I took one day. My maxi skirt got caught in the front tire, locked it and i flew forward into the street. Thank goodness for my front basket that broke the fall a bit. And thank goodness that on coming traffic had their eyes peeled for me. It’s funny to visualize, that’s for sure! I’d be honored to own anything from Linus so I’ll just cross my fingers and hope that I’m your lucky girl!

My bike was run over a few weeks ago by my next door neighbor who is the sweetest lady. She is insisting on buying me a new bike but I know she can’t afford it anymore than I can, so I’ve been super vague every time she brings it up, asking me if I’ve found a replacement yet. My car has been having a lot of issues lately so I have been looking for a new bike. The Dutchi 1 looks perfect for a ride around town, or, if I add on a basket or rear rack, I could ride to and from work. Everywhere I go is within riding distance, all I need is a bike!

This is kind of perfect timing because I saw the Dutchi 1 about two years ago in Cream color at my local bike shop when I was getting my old mountain bike repaired. The one I saw had a rear rack and a front basket and I knew then that I would get one at some point and ride it along the waterfront in DC and Virginia in the nice weather. I travel alot for my profession (archaeology) and unfortunately haven’t been able to save up yet so this could be the answer to my Linus dream!

I have a bike pretty similar to the dover 5 in cream, but obvi the dover is better. The one problem with my bike is i haven’t had the time (okay, or money) to actually make the bike fit my “personal aesthetic”. This thing is my car, I want it to stand out, have little trinkets that make it, well… me.
I am in love with head lamps and would love the linus headlamp (it’ll make a big difference riding at night)! But, what would be super awesome to finally have is the delano basket! I could finally ride my bike to get groceries and not look like a weirdo!

One look at these photos were enough to bring me out of the gloomy mood I’ve been having lately with the cold and wet weather in the Northeast. I can easily imagine riding around with the cream Dutchi1 along Riverside’s Park Promenade or in Central Park for a nice ride with the pup and fiance.

I am in love with the Roadster Classic model in Rosewood. It is simple yet elegant. Two things that inspire my life, my work, and my wardrobe.
Winning this bike would mean the world to me! I grew up in East Los Angeles in a very humble upbringing. With two working class immigrant parents working multiple jobs to support the family, I never owned a bike; let alone learn how to ride one. Most people learn how to ride a bicycle as children, I learned how to ride a bike as a 26 year old! Many people ask me, “Why didn’t you just learn as a middle schooler or high schooler?”. And that’s a good question. The reason I didn’t learn as an older youth was because I was embarrassed. It’s a mediocre excuse but its the truth. It wasn’t so much that I was embarrassed of not knowing how to ride a bike but more so that I was embarrassed of my impoverished upbringing. I have never been embarrassed or ashamed of my parents; no that was not the case. I was embarrassed of the missed opportunities and privileges that many of my peers experienced that I was not able to live.
As an adult,I now cherish and hold my upbringing and life experiences as a badge of honor. Through my parent’s sacrifice, hard work, and numerous opportunities, I am now living a different life and living to “pay it forward.” With that said, on my 26th birthday I decided I was going to learn how to ride a bike, regardless of how ridiculous I’d look. I got an old, unwanted mountain bike from my friend, bought a bike helmet, and my bike-riding lessons began.
Like I said, winning this contest and owning a Roadster Classic would make me the happiest girl in the world.

Oh my, what a perfect giveaway! I bike to college, and I’ve been to Linus in Venice a year ago, and test-drove some of the bikes, but in the end it was just too expensive for my student budget. I am in love with these bike photos! I am a Native Californian and lived in Venice for 5 years so I understand bike and beach culture and these styled Linus Bike picks are to die for! I especially love the Dutchi 3 because it allows a lady to wear a dress with out a wardrobe malfunction / peep show every time you get on and off the bike. With the lower cross bar you won’t get tangled up or be inappropriate and can still rock fun, flirty frocks! The Lil Dutchi in red reminds me so much of my first real bike as kid. I will have to get my daughter one in couple of years. All Linus bikes are gorgeous!
The Nantucket baskets and the copper bells are my favorites from the Linus shop. But of course, the bicycles steal the show. The Dutchi 1 in Spring AND Cream are both lovely.

I’m dreaming of the Peterboro Farmers Basket on the Dutchi 1 in Spring! Why do I want to win a Linus so badly (other than the obvious fact they are absolutely adorable)? Here’s a rather funny visual for you: I currently ride a borrowed 1970 Schwinn that was purchased for my boyfriend. He is a staggering 6’5″. Why does this matter? Well, I am a whoppin’ 5’2″. My feet can’t touch the ground. So on our rides to the local market, the beach, and the fun outdoor patios we spend many days on, I have to scope out a patch of grass or pile of soft sand to pretty much topple over into! It’s quite entertaining to witness I’m sure! I have the added bonus of carrying (yes, dangling bags of fruits/vegetables/wine from my arms). I would be delighted to finally have a bike of my own! My hubby and I recently relocated within 3.0 miles of my work!(he’s home-based) leaving my hour-each-way-i’m-growing-old-in-my-car freeway commute in the dust! We’ve been budgeting for a new bike for me to ride to work with the extra cash saved from living/working/thriving close to home. My bike is sad. I’ve ridden to work and it’s a mess – walking home with flat tires or gears stuck. Discouraged, I’ve given up for now, driving way more often than I should.

Both of these bikes are amazing! March 26th happens to be my 28th birthday! I would love either of these bikes – as biking to my work (which is only 4.5 miles from my house) is on my life list. I have used the first few months of 2013 to get healthier – cutting hormones from my life and food, spending more time outside, etc.. This would be an amazing addition to all of that. The best part would be buying one of the brass bells! Nothing like the sound of a bike bell to make you happy.

I adore the Dutchi1 in green. It reminds me of growing up in the south, riding my bike through down residential neighborhoods under tree-lined streets. I think the Nantucket Tuckernuck Tapered basket would be perfect on this bike to fill with food for a picnic in Central Park or groceries from the farmer’s market.

I have a linus bike and I absolutely love it. My sister, however, hasn’t had a bike in at least a decade and I would love to be able to surprise her with the Dutchi 1 in green. I love the Dutchi 3 limited edition at the Linus store. If I won the Dutchi 1, I would have to buy the basket to put on it. I relearned how to ride a bike as an adult in LA. Now that it’s spring, I am enjoying these sunny days down Sunset Blvd., along the LA River, in and out of neighborhoods and especially going DOWN the hill, picking up some milk when it has run out at the market a few blocks away, and all CicLAvias ever since I moved here and the inaugural one that I came down for. The Dutchi 1 in cream has been my dream bike ever since I’ve seen it, and test rode at the Venice shop and continued to eye it at the Pasadena pop up. I currently ride a bike my friend found for me on craigslist, one from the 80s, a heavier, rustier version that challenges me much than I can enjoy it.
I’m a big fan of the green Dutchi 1. Would be great for riding along the roads by the beaches in Northern MA.

The Roadster Classic in Rosewood is a gem of a bicycle. The warm brown color of the frame looks so fine! I imagine adding on Linus’ Delano front wire basket complete with a coffee cup ring for my commutes to, from and around town. I’d especially be excited to ride this bike complete with basket to our local farmer’s market where I work and hand-pour coffee. By the end of the market I always have an armful of beautiful produce to take home with me…I’d just put it all in my basket and go for a ride!

My fiance got herself her VERY FIRST bike — a Linus Dutchi 3 in Sage green. She takes it out for a ride any chance she gets. I on the other hand, am saving up for our wedding and can’t afford buying a Linus, but I am counting the days when I get to live my dream and bike around town with her. Funny story…. my original bike was stolen from me before my VERY OWN EYES… and I even chased the thief down and couldn’t quite catch up to him. TRUE STORY. linus! i love the sac bag because it is one of the most normal looking bags off a bike while also functioning perfectly on the bike, and that versatility is so important for my vain, yet bike commuting self! throw it on a roadster with a rear rack and life is made! if you superwant other opines, i can nerd out some constructive thoughts in your direction on colorways and obsessive bag geekery for hours, dear linus.

I literally just moved to Santa Monica last month and the only thing I’ve been pining for is a bike, more than a sofa, a TV or anything else that my new apt needs in its barren unfurnished state…because if you know anything about the Santa Monica/Venice area is that you need a bike to get around 🙂 The Dutchi 1 in green would be oh-so perfect to ride down to the farmer’s market on Sunday’s, then over to First Fridays on Abbot Kinney and lastly the Santa Monica Pier Concerts… It would give me such bliss and help me enjoy my first summer in beautiful/sunny Santa Monica. Love the Gaston 5 – I am crazy for old-school down-tube shifters (just like my own bike). If I win, this bike would for my hubby, who is still riding a 20+ y.o. mountain bike that, quite literally, is being held together with rust. The brakes, when applied, sound like a flock of dying geese. Poor guy!

My favorite product in the Linus Shop is the Gaston/Dover Handlebar (see below). Why? The design reminds me of a bird flying free, which is exactly how I feel when I’m coasting on a bike. Wind in my face, head tilted back, and holding on to the wings of this bird…can’t imagine that life could get better. Hoping to buy a Linus in 2013!

I have been wanting a bike for a long time. Baltimore is a very bikeable city and with my bike enthusiast boyfriend I feel a bit left out. I think that the roaster classic would be my ticket to more urban adventures and the opportunity to bike to work and the farmers markets and basically anywhere! I try to be as green as possible and I think that gorgeous bike would push me to the next level… Especially with spring on the horizon!

I’m about to be 23 years old, and I am just now learning how to ride a bike! I never got to learn as a kid and now I’m finally making it a priority! Looking forward to a move to Philly in July, so I could definitely use a pair of wheels. Being as I am still a bit wobbly, I love the “Nutcase” helmet in black. I love cruising down the bike path from Venice to Manhattan beach on weekends with the beau. It would be great to do that ride with a bike that has brakes (my current bike does not, which calls for some daredevil-like moves!)

I couldn’t sleep last night since I stumbled upon this giveaway.It is fate,Pure Serendipity! Dreams of my very own Linus Bike ensued.
Just this weekend, I fell in love with a Linus at a local bike sho here in Brooklyn. I am in the market for a new bike for the upcoming NYC 42-mile, five boro ride, and for my daily commuting needs. They are all fantastic, I would be blessed to have any of them, really! If I had to narrow it down, I am torn between the Dutchi3 of the Mixte3 in either sage or cream (both amazing), with a Nantucket Oval basket or the rear wire basket.
I love to cycle and would love to see NYC become Amsterdam, making cycling the transportation way of the future. A new Linus would be a dream come true! Smitten.

I love the new Rosewood color for the classic roadster. I am envious of all the Venetians riding around the neighborhood on their Linus’. Great company. I’ve always wanted one.
I recently bought a Linus Roadster Sport and love it. It would be great for my girlfriend to win one so that we can ride together so I’m secretly entering this for her. I’m sure she’d like either the spring or cream colored Dutchi 1.
My favorite item on the Linus Shop is the NANTUCKET PANNIER CISCO. It’s a beautiful basket that is also very practical since it hooks to the side of a rack. If I won this contest, I would choose the classic roadster. I’ve been riding bikes since I was a kid, but in my adult life I’ve never got to own a brand new bike!
My brand new Linus Dutchi 1 in cream was JUST stolen! As a Venice Beach dweller I rode it everyday! Would love to get my hands on another so I can stop depending on my car and get back on the bike path.

The Roadster Classic looks like it is the cat’s pajamas! Such a good looking bike, especially in Cream. After perusing the linus site, the rear wire basket looks like a must have accessory for trips to the grocery store. The practicality of the basket would be an integral part of shifting to a more bike-centric lifestyle… AKA WANT!!
